ECC quickly returned to their winning ways by taking two games from Region 16 rival Mineral Area College by impressive score lines of 12-0 and 16-7. The Falcons started the scoring as sophomores Jensen Crenshaw and Megan Micke launched solo home runs over the fence in the first inning to give ECC a 2-0 lead. The Falcons’ bats erupted in the 3rd inning scoring eight runs. Seeley Friend went 3 for 4 to lead ECC in the hit department. Sam White and Meg Barger also had two hits each contributing to the run production.  Defensively the Falcons were flawless behind the pitching of Ashley Miller, who only gave up three hits in the 5 inning game.

The second game had its bumps, but ECC leading 10-1 in bottom of the 5th inning looked to be in control to end the game early. Mineral Area scored two runs in the bottom of the 5th and the rain soaked game went into the 6th inning where the Falcons went to work driving in another six runs. Mineral Area tried to rally and scored four runs ending the game at 16-7. Marissa Boyd and Megan Micke both had four RBI to pace the team to victory hitting in key situations. Micke had a bases loaded triple to drive in three runs. Alaya Abney, Sam White and Seeley Friend collected 2 RBI each. The pitching was provided by Abby Ray who completed the game giving up eight hits.
