The ECC Falcons put their best effort forward to eliminate the Mineral Area College Cardinals from the Region 16 DII softball tournament with a 9-7 victory. It was all hands on deck for the Falcons as Addyson Steele, Kylie Mc Daniel and Abrea Simmons all pitched in the win.
It was an ECC early lead 2-0 after two innings, which turned quickly in the bottom of the fourth inning as MAC made it 3-2. A huge fifth inning saw hits throughout the line up and ECC jumped on the Cardinals pitching scoring five runs to go up 7-3.
Things got tight in the bottom of the sixth inning when MAC tied the score 7-7. ECC answered back with a two-run top of the seventh inning to go on top for good at 9-7. Abrea Simmons got the save striking out two batters and getting a pop up to end the game with two runners on base.
