ECC Softball Beats Mineral Area in Region Tournament

The ECC Falcons put their best effort forward to eliminate the Mineral Area College Cardinals from the Region 16 DII softball tournament with a 9-7 victory. It was all hands on deck for the Falcons as Addyson Steele, Kylie McDaniel and Abrea Simmons all pitched in the win.

It was an ECC early lead 2-0 after two innings, which turned quickly in the bottom of the fourth inning as MAC made it 3-2. A huge fifth inning saw hits throughout the line up and ECC jumped on the Cardinals pitching scoring five runs to go up 7-3.

Things got tight in the bottom of the sixth inning when MAC tied the score 7-7. ECC answered back with a two-run top of the seventh inning to go on top for good at 9-7. Abrea Simmons got the save striking out two batters and getting a pop up to end the game with two runners on base.
