The Falcons (14-10) were able to battle through the cold temperatures to take down Culver-Stockton College JV on Saturday by impressive scores of 9-5 and 11-1. The first game had ECC trailing 5-0 after a rough first inning. A quick answer in the bottom in the first with four runs of their own, the Falcons were right back into the game. Marissa Boyd registered three hits on the day including two doubles. Alayna Abney had only one hit, but drove in two runs. Abby Ray settled in pitching after the first inning and shutout the Wildcats with seven strikeouts through the remainder of the game to record the victory.

The second game of the double header had ECC driving in runs early as they shot out to a 7-1 lead in the first inning and didn’t look back. Finishing the game in five innings, the Falcons knocked the ball around the park with four players getting two hits each: Megan Micke, Jensen Crenshaw Alayna Abney and Seeley Friend. A quality pitching performance by Ashley Miller helped on the defensive side, as she registered four strikeouts and only allowed one earned run in the 11-1 win.
