The weather finally cooperated to allow the Falcons to play a home double header in 60 degree plus weather. East Central took advantage of the good weather behind a good pitching performance from Ashley Miller on “Sophomore Day”. The Falcons jumped out early to a 2-0 lead and then Marissa Boyd put an exclamation point on the game with a two run homer to left center. ECC rallied behind Miller’s pitching performance to register key outs in the later innings to hold State Fair to one run in the game for an 8-1 victory. The Falcons improved to 16-17 after the win in the first game.

The second game didn’t have to desired result for the Falcons as they dropped the game by a score of 5-2. They found themselves trailing early and having to escape numerous scoring opportunities created by State Fair. ECC had a couple of late game surges spoiled by the State Fair relief pitcher in the sixth and seventh innings.
