East Central College (22-13) took flight in the second game of a double header winning 4-3 over the Moberly Area Community College Greyhounds after dropping the first game 2-1. The first game of the double header was a pitcher’s duel with ECC’s Cole Evans only giving up one run in the contest going 4 and 1/3 innings.

ECC was trailing the second game 1-0 at the bottom of the first inning, but the Falcons bats were not to be denied on the day. DeVon Jennings came to the plate with two runners on base and crushed a ball over the right centerfield fence to elevate ECC to a 3-1 led. Josh McClintock had a good game at the plate going 3 for 3 and scoring two runs. McClintock scored late in the game to make the game 4-2.

Adam DeBoer got the start for the Falcons in the second game and pitched well through 5 and 2/3 innings. He gave up three runs, but struck out six and looked solid throughout the game. Joey Reichmuth came into the game into the bottom of the 6th inning for the Falcons.   Reichmuth was able to get himself out of a jam to get the save by striking out one and getting the final batter to pop up to end the contest in favor of the Falcons 4-3.

ECC will face the Greyhounds again on Saturday for another double header contest.
