The East Central College women’s soccer team (2-2) pulled off a complete team effort knocking off the Southeastern Iowa Community College Blackhawks by a score of 1-0. Niamh Miller posted her second career college shutout in the victory. The lone goal of the match was scored by Autumn Morgan.

Coach Joe Benninger stated, “The team put out an entire 90-minute effort to secure the win.” It will be a building block for future success in the season as a number of players return back to the line-up after nursing injuries. A rash of early season injuries will have to be overcome for the team to stay in the win column.

Next up for the Falcons is a match with Lincoln Trails on Saturday, Sept. 2 at home. ECC will be sporting new kits on the home pitch for the first time hoping to avenge last season’s home loss to the Lincoln Trails.
