The ECC Volleyball Falcons have started the first two weekends off on a perfect 8-0 start. ECC was able to knock off John Wood CC, Southeastern IL CC, Lewis & Clark CC, and Frontier CC all in one weekend. ECC swept John Wood and Lewis & Clark 3 -0 in sets and only gave up one set to Southeastern and Frontier winning 3-1 in each match..
Coach Lisa Mathes-Peters has the Falcons flying high, but feels there is room for improvement in their game. The Falcons found themselves trailing in many of the sets over the weekend and clawed their way back with some true determination to pull out some dramatic comebacks. Highlights from the weekend include good play at the net from Brenna Moore and Abby Cowell. Lexi Filkins and Katie Myers were nails on the court when it came to digs and assists.
A big test lies ahead as ECC takes on NJCAA DI MCCAC conference rival Jefferson in Hillsboro for their next match on Wed. August 30. The Falcons have only beat Jefferson College one time since 2007 and the Falcons are looking to keep their perfect record in tact heading into conference play.
