ECC Baseball (9-1) was trailing almost the entire second game against the Milwaukee Area Tech Stormers until it mattered most in the bottom of the 7th inning, when Matis Crouwel singled to drive in two runs for the 7-6 walk-off winner. The dramatic win capped off a double header sweep of Milwaukee Area Tech with the first game going all the Falcons way with an 11-6 victory.

The first game was led by Hayden Cook, Corey Chostner and Jackson Kirn collecting two hits each. Kirn had a big double and Chostner had a triple as they both knocked in two runs. A number of Milwaukee Area errors also led to runs for the home team Falcons.

Cole Evans earned the win for the Falcons going four and two-thirds innings striking out four batters and walking none. Brock Hendrix and Ayden Gates were able to come in relief for ECC and secure the win.

The second game had ECC trailing 4-0 in the first inning and it looked like it was time to wake up the bats. It took small chips with the bats to score one run in the 3rd, one in the 4th  as the Falcons started reeling in the Stormers trailing 5-3. In the 5th inning, ECC tied the score at 5-5, but it didn’t last long. Milwaukee Area Tech hit a solo home run in the top of the 6th inning and the Falcons found themselves trailing 6-5 heading into the bottom of the 7th inning.

Starting off the 7th inning, Devon Jennings got walked and reached base, then Jose Alfonso had a hard hit single to get on. The runners advanced to scoring position with Matis Crowel up to bat. Crouwel’s hit had eyes as it was placed perfectly between 1st and 2nd to score both runners for the walk-off 7-6 win.

Joey Reichmuth started the game, Anthony Broeker came in the second inning going two innings. Drew Davis came in relief and got the win from the mound for the Falcons going 3 innings and striking out 3 batters.
