As the ECC Falcons (21- 8) honored their upper class on ‘Sophomore Day’ against the Missouri Baptist University reserves they also finished the match well with a 3-0 set sweep of the Spartans 25-22, 25-12, 25-20. The Falcons were in control most of the match and paid honor to the class of five sophomores being announced prior to the start.
Emma Coburn, Brenna Moore, Josie Schipper, Alyssa Bruce, and Kourtnee McDaniel were introduced as individuals with their parents or other family members walking them out onto the home court in the Donald Shook Student Center for one last time. Each athlete had their intended major and transfer institutions acknowledged.
Each year preparation goes into a season and this one has been a special one, as this was the first time since 2016 the Falcons have reached the 20-win mark on a season. Big tests still lie ahead with the NJCAA Region 16 Tournament looming next weekend and possible district play the following weekend to earn a birth in the NJCAA National Tournament being held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in mid-November.
