The Falcons (2-1) were able to make the best of a hot and humid day with a victory over the North Iowa Area Community College Trojans with a clean sheet 2-0. ECC had a good beginning to the match with quick chances on goal and just couldn’t finish. The first half was scoreless with ECC carrying an advantage in possession percentage and chances. ECC didn’t wait long to take the over in the second half. Gabriel Pires tucked away a tight pass in traffic from Leonard Sowa for the eventual game winner just two minutes after the start of the second frame. The second goal came in the 60th minute as sophomore Lewis Brass connected with Billy Thompson.  Brass punted the ball into the box with Thompson receiving the massive long ball in traffic and turned it to his right and finished the insurance goal.

The Falcons let chippy play and the heat get to them as the game neared a close. A couple of chances in front of the Trojan goal were missed late in the match. Leonard Sowa made an excellent run to beat four defenders and just shot wide in what would have been the final strike for the Falcons.
