The ECC Falcons (15-8) flew past the State Fair Roadrunners in the MCCAC home conference matchup by a score of 14-4. Jack Meyer earned the win pitching for the Falcons as he went three innings, striking out three batters and not giving up an earned run. Drew Davis threw well pitching 1 and 2/3 shutout innings in relief.
Hayden Cook led the way in the RBI department with three on a three-run triple. Matis Crouwel, DeVon Jennings, Jose Alfonso and Aiden Gaither all had big days at the plate collecting 2 RBIs each. Crouwel and Jennings both hit solo home runs in the game. Nick Hooper reached base four times on a single, hit by pitch and two walks and scored all four times.
A large crowd was on hand as the Falcons found their stride in the game early and didn’t have to play comeback baseball.
Next up for the Falcons is Hesston College on Friday, March 22 with “Stuff the Stands” day including free T-shirts for the first 85 fans in attendance. Free hot dogs and drinks will also be given away while supplies last.
