East Central split a double header with MCCAC conference opponent St. Charles Community College losing the first game 8-5 and winning the second game with an astounding 18-1 score line.

The first game wasn’t going the Falcons’ way as they found themselves trailing 5-0 in the top of the fourth inning. ECC started to mount a comeback in the bottom of the fourth as Kaylyn McKee hit a two run double to cut the score to 5-2. Then Jordan Owens got into the action by adding her own double bringing in one run.  Katie Gaus kept the Falcons in the game with an RBI on a fielder’s choice. The game was in reach for the Falcons at 5-4 until the Cougars hit a 3- run homer in the top of the fifth to make the score 8-4. Mallory Feldewerth added a final run with a solo homer, but ECC fell 8-5.

The second game went well for ECC behind the pitching of Madelyn Webb throwing a superb five innings only allowing one run in the 18-1 victory.

Hits came early and often for the Falcons led by Jena Monehan who was crushing the ball and drove in two runs on two hits. Jenna Crider also had two hits and collected three RBI. A double steal had the Falcons scoring quickly to make the score 5-0 in the second inning. Katie Gaus, Kalie Edler, Dani Kimminau, Kristyn England, Kaylee Abney, Kaylyn McKee, Jordan Owens all had RBI as the Falcons kept piling up runs in the big victory over the Cougars.
