The ECC Softball Falcons (7-4) were put to the test against the Central Methodist University JV Eagles and answered back with an emphatic walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning in the second game to complete the double header sweep.

ECC won the first game 6-3 with big hits coming from the bat of Payton Robinson with a home run and double. The Falcons were able to follow the hits to victory behind the excellent pitching performance by Addyson Steele.

The second game finished with a dramatic flare as the Falcons were down 1-0 early in the first inning and then answered back with a run of their own to tie the game 1-1 in the fourth inning. ECC jumped on a few Eagle mistakes and scored two more runs on an RBI sacrifice single by Ryleigh Long and then another run came off an Avery Little home run. The Eagles answered back in the top of the sixth to quickly tie the score at 3-3.

Then in the bottom of the seventh, it was Avery Little time again with the score still notched up at 3-3. Facing a good CMU pitcher throughout the second game, the Falcons had trouble hitting.  Little finally managed to the pitcher and launch a solo shot to dead center field over the fence for the the walk-off winner.  Fireworks from the diminutive Little have been nothing but ‘BIG’ over the last four games as she has hit 5 home runs over the short span.  Kylie McDaniel earned the win pitching well for the Falcons to get her 3rd victory on the season.
