Two comeback victories for the Falcons over the Frontier Community College Bobcats has ECC Softball (5-4) flying high and back above the .500 mark on the season.

ECC won the first game 9-7 after trailing 7-2 with a Frontier grand slam in the top of the fourth inning. The Falcons were paced by Avery Little knocking out two home runs. The first of the home runs was a two-run shot in the third inning to make the game 3-2. She then hit a solo shot in the fifth to make the game 7-3. Anna Arman came up as the next batter for the Falcons and sent a shot over the fence to make the game 7-4.

The Falcons kept the pressure on the Bobcats as Alexa Smalling and Lexi Lewis both scored. Arman drove in the game winning runs with a two RBI double.  Sam Kozlowski drove in an insurance run and ECC held on to for a victory 9-7 behind good defense with Addyson Steele getting the win pitching.

The second game was even more dramatic with a 12-11 play at the plate winner. ECC was down 5-0 in the top of the third inning and then it was “Game On”. Avery Little took up where she left off in the last game and sent a three run shot over the fence to make the game 5-3. Smalling sent a two-run homer over the fence in the 5th inning to tie the game at 6-6. Lexi Filkins drove in a run in the 6th inning to make the game 7-6 in favor of the Falcons. Things started to unravel as the Falcons found themselves trailing 10-7 in the top of the seventh, but the Falcons didn’t waiver.

Going into extra innings, the Falcons were down again 11-10. The Falcons manufactured a tying run to notch the score at 11-11. Then with one out in the eighth inning an RBI hit by Lexi Lewis had Peyton Robinson sliding head first into home plate to beat the tag and win the game 12-11. Kylie McDaniel got the win pitching for the Falcons.
