The East Central College Softball Falcons (24-14) were able to sweep the John Wood Community College Trailblazers at home with double digit scores of 11-7 and 10-2. The first game had Ryleigh Long sending the ball into orbit from the plate. Long sent two over the fence and launched a double off the fence going three for four at the plate and driving in seven runs. Avery Little and Meredith Blakemore registered three hits each. Genevieve Beacom collected two RBIs on two hits.

Abrea Simmons earned the win for the Falcons with five strikeouts and Megan Hawkins came into the game in relief.
The second game had the Falcons cleaning up their defense and winning in six innings. Beacom was swinging the bat hard as she went three for four with a double and two singles driving in three runs. Blakemore and Maggie Stubenrauch also joined the hit parade with two hits and two RBIs each.

A solid defensive game was led by Addyson Steele, who broke the school career strikeout record and recorded the victory. Steele recorded seven strikeouts in the game, elevating her single season to 117 and a career to 212, breaking Kasey Clanton’s record from 2006-2007 over a two-year career. Steele also turned a key double play in the 6th inning as she caught a line drive and picked off the runner at first.
