East Central College Men’s Soccer (5-4-1) was able to take the bite out of the Metropolitan Community College Kansas City Wolves with a 5-0 home victory. A tightly contested first 38 minutes were moving along and the floodgates then began to open. ECC scored first in the 39th minute when Calogera Melia was able to tuck in a nice through ball into the back of the net as he cruised through the MCCKC penalty area. Ethan Lush then added another goal in the next two minutes on a assist from Tyler Finder to put ECC up 2-0 at halftime.
Melia and Lush weren’t finished adding to the scoring as Melia scored a second time in the 61st minute on a Lush assist. Then Melia returned the favor for the fourth goal in the 69th minute as he assisted on Lush’s second goal of the match. Tyler Finder also popped into the box with a few really good chances and finally netted one on an assist from James Harrison.
The Falcon defense kept a clean sheet for ECC goalkeeper Jay Elliot who got his third shutout in three out of the last four matches. A couple tough contested through balls were about all Elliot had to pick up in the match along with a few routine saves.
