The ECC Volleyball Falcons (9-8) hit the road to Kansas and won three out four matches on a long weekend to the Sunflower State to move above the .500 mark on the season. Playing above .500 is similar to where they were in the first two weeks of the season.
On Friday, the Falcons dropped their only match to Allen County in Iola, KS by a score line of 23-25, 10-25, 25-20, 17-25. Then ECC put on their rally caps, as they went the distance in the next three matches taking all three. One victory took place in Iola, Kansas over Friends University JV by a score of 25-17, 25-17, 25-22.
The next set of matches were in Independence, Kansas where the Falcons were on mission. ECC knocked off Independence, who they lost to previously in the season, going five sets 25-21, 21-25, 33-31, 20-25, 15-11. The second match was against John Brown University JV and that went deep into five sets. The Falcons came out on top in the extra points in the fifth set 26-28, 25-22, 25-16, 18-25, 16-14. Brenna Moore and Makayla Case had great weekend collecting double digit kills in every match. The Falcons showed grit on defense as well with Trinity Clark and Emily McKinney leading the charge in the backcourt.
