The ECC Volleyball Team (16-7) had three matches in a short time span and were able to win two out of the three with the most important coming on Friday night.

The Falcons faced the Metropolitan Community College- Kansas City Wolves in an important NJCAA Region 16 match. The Wolves took the first match of the season at home in five sets and the Falcons reversed their fortune at home by taking down MCCKC in five sets. The score line of 25-16, 21-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-9 had the Falcons battling in every set to bring home the victory.

As the Falcons brought home the victory and secured the #1 seed in the NJCAA Region 16 Tournament there wasn’t much time to rest as the Falcons woke up the next morning and boarded a bus for Quincy, IL . ECC faced John Wood Community College and Joliet Junior College to cap off the weekend. The Falcons were knocked down by the Wolves of Joliet in three sets. A turn around came against the John Wood Trailblazers by a score of 26-24, 25-23, 23-25 and 25-18. A close match had ECC Volleyball Alumnus Madeleine Halford coaching against her former coach, Lisa Mathes-Peters.

The Falcons have one tough regular season conference match left on Wednesday as they face the MSU-West Plains Grizzlies away. After that match the Falcons will play one game on Saturday, October 30 against the winner of MCCKC and STLCC for the NJCAA Region 16 DII Championship at 11:00AM.
