NJCAA DII #20 East Central College, now 8-2, used their bats to take the first game of a double header over Central Methodist University JV by a score of 5-3. The tight contest was highlighted by Megan Micke hitting her first home run of the season to elevate ECC to a 2-0 early lead.  Seeley Friend had two hits and two RBI in the game to give the Falcons the final edge over CMU after seven innings. Abby Ray improved her record to 4-0 pitching for the Falcons. She gave up a season high three runs, but her ERA still ranks as one of the best in NJCAA DII statistics.

The second game on the slate was not as kind to the Falcons as they fell 2-1 in a low scoring affair. Ashley Miller pitched well for the Falcons, but the offense was held to a season low one run. The best defensive performances don’t always end up in victories with run support. The Falcons are averaging seven runs per game with a highly productive offense and will look to regain their bats this week as the face NJCAA Region 16 DII opponents Mineral Area College and Cottey College with post seeding tournament implications.
