The Falcons (1-0-1) were able to take an early lead against Columbia State (TN) to eventually hang on for a 1-1 tie in their second home match of the season. The first half saw the Falcons will a balanced attack and a few good chances on frame. Abby Layton found the back of the net in the 20th minutes on an assist from Maria McSherry. This goal held up through most of the match until Columbia State found a chink in the Falcons armor and put a shot past Gabrielle Mattli. Mattli had a few stellar saves in the match to keep the Falcons undefeated through their first two matches of the season.
