The ECC Volleyball Falcons (2-4) were able to add a “W” into the win column after a 3-1 set match victory over the Missouri Baptist University JV Spartans. The score line had ECC winning 18-25, 25-10, 25-23, 25-18 in three sets. As the Falcons found their form, it took one set to get back after some adjustments were made to the line-up. ECC lost 1st team all-region libero Lexi Filkins for the remainder of the season over the past weekend and tweaks to the line-up had to be made.

A best case scenario came together as the offense started clicking. ECC won the next three sets led by the offense of Abby Cowell (14 kills), Katelee Payne (10 kills) and Isabel Stowe (10 kills). Brooke Leesmann was the setter for the match and she connected for 18 assists and Jaidyn Collins added 15 assists as well.

On the defensive side, it was an overall team effort in the digs department to make up for the loss of Lexi Filkins, team leader in digs last season.

The Falcons will roost at home as they host John Wood, Southern Illinois College, Frontier, and Metropolitan this weekend in the ECC Falcon Classic Friday, Sept. 6 & Saturday, Sept. 7.
