Winter’s hold on the frigid temperatures is starting to give way to a slight warming trend and the softball season is on the horizon this week for the Falcons and other teams across the country. Former ECC softball player Megan Micke has shown no signs of being cold as her bat has been red hot in her first two games for Lyon College. Micke had a triple in a 5-2 victory against Avila College and then she came back with an even better performance in her second game. As her Lyon College squad trailed 5-4, Micke hit a game winning, two-run homer to come from behind against Bethany College to make the final score 6-5. Micke has started both games at shortstop for the Scots and looks to be a permanent fixture in the starting line-up.
