The Falcons (10-7-1) were able to split a double header as the team had a stellar performance over a very good State Fair squad in the first game by a score of 4-2. Hailey Schulte pitched excellent holding a hard hitting Roadrunner line-up to only two runs. Jenna Crider and Kelly Ferguson had RBI hits in the game, but the biggest hit of the game came in the bottom of the sixth inning. While the game was tied 2-2, Danielle Kimminau belted a two RBI double to become the eventual game winning hit as the Falcons held State Fair scoreless in the sixth. Kimminau had several great catches in center field to rob State Fair of some possible hits and runs.
ECC was down 12-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning in the second game and decided to not get run-ruled. The Falcons decided to light up their side of the scoreboard with 7 runs in the bottom of the fifth. Highlighted by Madison Greco’s grand slam to give her eight homers on the season. The Roadrunners then were held scoreless in the sixth and ECC couldn’t score either. Finally, the bottom dropped out in the top of the seventh inning as State Fair piled on more runs which became an eventual 18-7 loss for ECC.
