A tightly contested nine-inning game was 0-0 after five innings and a weather delay. ECC (33-18) got to work after trailing 1-0 after the bottom of the sixth inning. Matis Crouwel gave ECC a 2-1 lead in the top of the seventh inning. The Falcons got even hotter at the plate as both Hayden Cook and Crouwel had two RBIs on the day. Josh McClintock continued his torrid base stealing as he collected another bag giving him a team lead 45 on the season.
Ayden Gates got the win in relief of Billy Underwood who got the start. Underwood only gave up two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out two batters and only one walk. The opposing pitcher Grant Trentman from Moberly Area matched Underwood inning by inning and went five scoreless innings. It was the relief pitching of Gates and Landon Cann that proved vital earning the win for the Falcons.
Aiden Gaither had three hits in the game for his best performance at the plate all season.
