ECC Volleyball (16-10) took four sets to defeat the Rend Lake Warriors by scores of 25-17, 25-14, 22-25, 25-17. ECC took an early two set lead in the match, when the Warriors seemed to come to life after a couple Falcon errors. The Falcon squad rallied in the fourth set and got back to good fundamental volleyball making passes to set up the offense. ECC was paced by 35 digs from Kaley Roper. Rend Lake had a good outside hitter that threatened to score all match, but Roper held the back line together to rally for the win. On the offensive side, Kayla Schmidt, Jessica Kelly, Symantha Fredrick and Sarah Weiland were able to knock down kills to score crucial points for the Falcons.
The Falcons will face Lindenwood University-Belleville JV and Missouri Baptist University JV in tri-match at home hoping to collect more victories. A surging Falcon team is trying to polish up their game before the end of the month and the nearing post season.
