The East Central Falcons, 6-3 on the season, were able to win the first match against Harris Stowe State University by scores of 25-16, 19-25, 25-21, 25-19. A couple of close sets in the end had ECC on their heels, but the Falcons rallied to end the match with good play from some of the freshmen. Grace Goedde had a good match hitting on the outside for the Falcons. A strong push to get good all around play had ECC battling most of the match.
The second match didn’t go the way of the Falcons as the Lewis & Clark Trailblazers were able to take all three sets by scores of 18-25, 19-25, 20-25. It was a tough match defensively for the team and offensively there were ups and downs. The Falcons just couldn’t put together stretches of good play most of the afternoon.
Lewis & Clark was able to beat Harris Stowe 3 sets to 1 in the second of the three matches. The Falcons will look to rebound from the loss this week with match ups against St. Louis Community College and Cottey College.
