The Falcons ended the season with a gallant effort trying to knock down the St. Louis Community College Archers in the NJCAA Region 16 semifinal match held at the STLCC-Meramec campus on November 1. ECC was in control most of the way after they took the lead 2-1 in sets heading into the fourth. Leading 18-13 in the fourth set, ECC faltered and allowed St. Louis to get back into the game and tie the game at 19-19. The fifth set had momentum swinging the way of the Archers for a final score line of 25-20, 23-25, 25-15, 22-25, 12-15.
A battle to the end had ECC playing at a high level, but not quit finishing off the opposition. The season put ECC at the 11-17 mark.
St. Louis advanced to the final against Metropolitan Community College Kansas City where they fell 3-1 in sets. MCCKC will advance to the district playoff against Region 11b Iowa next Saturday November
