ECC  Student Athletes Tops in The MCCAC

Closure to the academic and athletic calendar for 2016-17 has the Falcons perched on top of the conference for the 8th straight year with their performance in the classroom. Each year the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference honors the highest overall grade point average from the conference with the Harold Oetting Award.  Collecting the honor from 2010-2017 has given the athletic department at East Central College  almost a decade long of excellence in academics. True dedication to academics by the student athletes along with  support provided from numerous areas  on campus have been key factors to this success.

NJCAA ALL-ACADEMIC LIST

A record number of student athletes have received NJCAA Academic honors with 20 student athletes receiving awards from the NJCAA with a 3.6 grade point average or higher for the academic year. An amazing feat with all three teams also receiving honors as All-Academic Teams with a 3.0 GPA or higher. “It makes the student athletes’  college experience better and their transfer opportunities for scholarship increase when our student athletes achieve success in the classroom,” states East Central College Athletic Director,  Dr. Jay Mehrhoff.
