A steady onslaught of pressure led to a 4-0 victory for the East Central men’s soccer team (3-3-1) over the North Arkansas Pioneers. A goal in the 28th minute on an excellent run by Dujon Brown set up Calogera Melia for the first goal. Jacob Wipke then went to work scoring two goals of his own on assists by Ross Watson in the 44th minute and Calogera Meila in the 59th minute. An own goal was scored by North Arkansas in the 89th minute as time was just about to expire.
Jay Elliot was supported in the back to earn the shutout in the nets by good play from the defensive line. Stellar defensive performances by Matt Harp, Damian Kunc and Juan Wagner were all that was needed along with a few Elliot saves to preserve the shutout.
The Falcons will face NJCAA #2 ranked Northeast Nebraska at home next Wednesday in their next match at 1:00PM.
