It was just a normal day at the office or in Lexi Lewis’ case a normal day on the softball diamond, as she collected 5 stolen bases in a double header against the Mineral Area College Cardinals. Her normal day in this particular instance just put her in the record books as the all-time career and single season stolen base leader for the East Central College Softball Falcons.
Game #1 East Central vs. Mineral Area
Lexi Lewis: 1 for 2 w/a run scored and 3 stolen bases
Game #2 East Central vs. Mineral Area
Lexi Lewis: 2 stolen bases
Lexi Lewis stole 5 bases on the day and set a new single season record with 47 stolen bases. Lewis broke the single season stolen base record set by Kiersten Monzyk in 2015 with 25 fewer games played. As the season continues into the month of April and region playoffs in early May, Lewis looks to keep accumulating more stolen bases and adding to the record.
