Turgeon Named Second-Team All-Region After Stellar Season in Net

East Central College goalkeeper Claire Turgeon capped off a breakout season with a well-deserved honor, being named Second-Team All-Region for her efforts between the posts.

The freshman shot-stopper was nothing short of sensational for the Falcons this year. Turgeon finished the season second in the nation in total saves, tallying an impressive 166 — a mark that consistently kept ECC competitive in one of the region’s toughest schedules.

Game after game, she displayed remarkable reflexes and fearless decision-making, routinely denying scoring opportunities that looked destined for the back of the net. Her performances fueled the Falcons’ defensive unit and earned respect from coaches and opponents across the NJCAA.

“Claire stepped into a major role and exceeded every expectation,” said ECC women’s soccer staff. “Her work ethic, her poise under pressure — she gave our team a chance every single match.”

With her first collegiate season now in the books, Turgeon has laid a strong foundation for what looks to be a bright future in goal. And if her rookie campaign is any indication, she’s only getting started.

Congratulations, Claire, on an outstanding season and a deserving All-Region selection!
