East Central College (22-14) split a double header against the Moberly Area Greyhounds winning the first game 4-1 and dropping the second game 7-5.
East Central College got on the board in the second inning of the first game after Ryleigh Long singled, scoring one run.
East Central College added one run in the third. MACC Greyhounds committed an error, making the score 2-0.
Abrea Simmons earned the win for East Central College. Simmons allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out four and walking two.
Avery Little, Megan Hawkins, Genevieve Beacom, and Long each collected one hit for East Central College. Little went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. East Central College turned one double play in the game. East Central College were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Little made the most plays with six.
Despite the late inning comeback ECC couldn’t mount a comeback as they came up short 7-5 after scoring 3 runs in the top of the seventh inning.
