ECC Softball (28-14) traveled to Quincy, IL to sweep a double header over the John Wood Community College Trailblazers 13-2 and 8-4. A dry day up north to escape the rain at home is just what the Falcons needed to put an exclamation point on a good week of softball. Coming off two home double header sweeps over John Wood and Mineral Area, the Falcons kept the momentum going.
The first game was highlighted by crushing hits by Genevieve Beacom who went three for four driving in four runs on two triples and a single. Anna Arman and Meredith Blakemore had big doubles driving in runs as well. Blakemore went four for five on the day.
Abrea Simmons earned the win for the Falcons as she struck out two batters and only allowed two runs on two hits. Megan Hawkins came into her usual position to close the game and did well.
The Falcons had twelve hits in the second game. Sam Kozlowski, Avery Little, Maggie Stubenrauch and Meredith Blakemore collected two hits each in the game. Little went two for five at the plate with three RBIs.
Addyson Steele registered the win for the Falcons as she struck out three batters in the contest. Megan Hawkins came in and threw one inning in relief.
