The ECC Men’s Soccer Falcons (2-2) put together a complete match to notch a 1-0 victory over the Western Iowa Tech Comets in Sioux City, Iowa. It was a big win for the Falcons as the team reached the .500 mark again for a second time on the season.

A tremendous defensive match had ECC being outshot 7-2, but Iggy Padilla’s stellar play in the net helped the team get their second shutout of the season. Michael Holliday, Koen Gemeri, Matt Harp and Brady Blum played excellent shutdown defense in front of Padilla. Blum added the lone offensive stat that counted as he buried a 25 yard direct free kick in the 70th minute of the match.

Midfield play had been the bulk of the match with a slight percentage of balls won going to the opposition Comets. As the Falcons finished the match, the intensity picked up and the Falcons played it smart to get the positive result.
