The East Central College Men’s Soccer Team (3-5-3) was able to pull out a 2-2 tie against MCCAC rival Jefferson College at home. The Falcons’ start to the game was not the best, but the match finished well with the Falcons pulling out a tie in the last four minutes of the game. ECC had the better of the play with chances and time of possession at the end of the second half.  Jules Denommee delivered a free kick into the box and found Michael Holliday soaring into the back of the six-yard box where he hammered a header into the back of the net to notch the game at 2-2 in the 86th minute.

The early minutes of the match did not go well as ECC gave up a goal in the first two minutes of the game. The Falcons were resilient and kept mounting attacks. Tyler Finder drew a penalty kick in the 26th minute, but Jules Denommee could not convert as the ball pinged off the outside of the post.  ECC found a way in the 29th minute to tie the score at 1-1 on a Tyler Finder goal as he beat the keeper on a break away. Ray Cloud sent the ball through to Finder who used his exceptional speed to torch a defender and then the Jefferson College keeper.

Jefferson answered with a goal of their own in the 38th minute. Almost the entire second half had ECC trailing until the Falcons found a way to come home with a point. Iggy Padilla played well in the nets behind a good defense that only had a few lapses.

The Falcons will face Crowder next week at home on Wednesday, October 16 at 3:00PM for their next match.
