The East Central College Falcons (29-15) split a conference and region double header with the St. Louis Community College Archers in the last regular season match-up of NJCAA Region 16 DII and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference play. The Falcons took the first game 3-2 and lost the second game 4-2 heading into the post season.

Abrea Simmons got the start from the circle for the Falcons and went the distance only giving up six hits and struck out four batters. Simmons also recorded the crucial last out of the game with runners in scoring position.

The game was tied 1-1 after six and half innings, when Meredith Blakemore delivered the eventual, game winning two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning. Prior to the home run, Genevieve Beacom reached base by hitting a crushing single to left field.

The Falcons gave up one run in the top of the seventh, but STLCC stranded two base runners in the inning allowing the Falcons to prevail.

The second game had ECC down early 4-0, and then the Falcons started to claw their way back into the game as Avery Little, Sam Kozlowski, Ryleigh Long, anna Arman and Meredith Blakemore were able to register hits. Little and Long drove in the two runs in the sixth and seventh innings, but it was not enough to mount a comeback.
