A region win for the Falcons, now 11-3 on the season, over the St. Louis Community College Archers was just what the team needed midway through the season. ECC found themselves trailing after the first set and a resilient Falcon squad clawed their way back into the match by winning the next three sets for a final score of 13-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-23. The key to the Falcons success lies in overall team defense providing the team second and third chances to score offensively. A noticeable improvement on defensive coverage has the Falcons not giving up the easy points that usually change the momentum in a match.
Coach Mathes- Peters has her Falcons flying high as they head into the weekend with a match-up against the Southwestern Illinois College Blue Storm in Belleville, IL this weekend. Over the years, the Falcons have had SWIC’s number when it comes to the win column. But as witnessed on any given day, a collegiate team can be upset if let downs occur.
The Falcons will see a return of a starter in Leinata Leakehe as she returns to the line-up this weekend. Each of the Falcons wins have been team oriented and usually help when all team members are firing on all cylinders.
