An 8-3 victory over the North Central Missouri College Pirates puts East Central College (36-19) into the Region 16 DII Championship game on Saturday, May 11 at 11AM. The Falcons struck early in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-1 lead and they didn’t look back behind the pitching of Cole Evans and Drew Davis. Evans only allowed 1 run in 7 innings of work. Davis came in to clean up the game only allowing 2 runs.

East Central had RBI hits from Josh McClintock, Matis Crouwel and Nick Hooper. The Falcons were up 6-1 after 5 innings and then base running took to the usual form.  As the Falcons took flight on the bases, runs were manufactured as a double steal took place and Cory Chostner stole home to make the game 8-1 in the 7th inning just beating out the catcher’s tag.

The Falcons will have the winner of North Central and Hesston as the opponent in the championship game. ECC has the upper hand as they will have two chances to win the championship in the double elimination tournament.
