The East Central College Falcons (1-1) started the season with a mini-tournament consisting of two matches, one with Wabash Valley and the other with the host Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg, IL.  The Falcons dropped the first set of the season 3-1 to Wabash Valley by taking the first set 25-23 and dropping the next three 25-20, 25-23, 25-20.

A bounce back in the second match had the Falcons in control throughout the match knocking of the host SIC 25-16, 25-21 and 25-15. ECC had command of the lead throughout the match and looks to build on this foundation heading into the start of the season.  Abby Cowell and Bailee Luttrell led the Falcons in the kills department with 9 and 7 respectively. Lexi Filkins has 21 digs on the defensive side of the ball.   The helpers came from Brooke Leesmann and Jaidyn Collins as Leesmann had 16 assists and Collins added 14 of her own.

The Falcons will face a perennial MCCAC Conference opponent in Jefferson College at home on Wednesday, August 28 for the home opener.
