The East Central College Softball Falcons (4-0) were able to hold off the William Woods University JV Owls in a double header by scores of 7-6 and 7-0.

The first contest had the Falcons in the lead 7-2, but the Owls made it interesting by mounting a comeback for a dramatic 7-6 win for the Falcons as their defense held tight. Meredith Blackmore and Loren Thurmon came up big for the Falcons both registered 2 RBI in the game.

Abrea Simmons earned the win for the Falcons as she struck out nine batters. Megan Hawkins came into the game to get the save.

The second contest started and finished well for the Falcons. Addyson Steele got the win with good pitching and solid team defense. Steele stuck out six in the contests. The hit parade continued for the Falcons with a massive triple by Genevieve Beacom, who went two for three and two runs batted in. Anna Arman and Meredith Blakemore also added two hits each for the Falcons.

ECC will play Kaskaskia next Thursday, February 27 at Washington High School Field.
