ECC Softball (19-17) won their first game in the NJCAA Region 16 DII Tournament over the Mineral Area College Cardinals by a score of 4-1. The Falcons bats were hot early as they tallied three runs in the first inning to take a commanding lead early 3-0. ECC was up 4-0 in the fourth inning and only allowed one run to be scored by the Cardinals.
The victory puts ECC in the winner’s bracket facing the #1 seed St. Louis Community College next. A tough season series with St. Louis taking three out of four will be a test for the Falcons. Coach Wallach has the team focused hoping to make it to the championship game which they have missed out on over the past few years.
