The East Central College Falcons won their first two baseball games of the season by scores of 6-4 and 14-3 over the North Arkansas Community College Pioneers in Forsyth, MO. The last time the East Central College baseball team won an official NJCAA game was in 2001. A newly reinstated team led by Head Coach Jonathan Mills is comprised of all freshmen with one sophomore transfer player and team captain, Will Sisk. The Falcons are poised to compete this year as the eager, young players are looking to work hard for playing time.
Mario Columbo (Francis Howell HS) added pop to the line up hitting two home runs in the double header to lead the Falcons in slugging percentage in the opening double header. A strong pitching outing came from Hudson Stark with Shane Kearby getting the win in the first game. Alfred Ulloa and Shane Kearby were able to seal the deal in relief in the first game.
The Falcons will face North Arkansas eight times in the season and look to put their stamp on the first weekend of the season as the team returns home for Missouri Community College Athletic Conference double headers against Three Rivers Community College and St. Louis Community College next week.
