Meghan Rumley Hits Home Run at Region 16 TournamentMeghan Rumley Hits Home Run at Region 16 TournamentThe East Central College Falcons started the Region XVI Tournament with a more than just a couple of hits. A series of hits highlighted by multiple run homers from Sam Kleekamp, Meghan Rumley and Jessica Eichholz powered ECC to their first victory in convincing fashion over the Cottey College Comets 14-2.

In the second game, more of the same followed as ECC sent player after player to the plate catapulting the team to a 14-0 lead over the Forest Park Highlanders. Kasilda Miller collected a home run and Addie Blankenship, Jill Griffin, Lisa Stout and Stephanie Dukes all had multiple hits in the second win 14-3.

The third game in a row against Mineral Area ended up with a 7-5 loss despite another good team effort. A rough fourth inning with multiple errors cost ECC four runs. The Region 16 Tournament is postponed until Sunday, May 2 with ECC playing the winner of the Meramec/Forest Park elimination game at 12:00p.m. (Noon).
