The Falcons (14-7) hosted the NJCAA Region 16 Seeding Tournament and made a statement to the other teams that they are the top team in the region. Flying through the tournament with convincing victories in each of their matches, the home team did not look back. Wins over Cottey College and Northeastern Oklahoma set the tone for the afternoon match-up with region rival MCC-Longview. East Central took a commanding lead in the first game against the Longview Lakers, but let the lead slip late in game and had to play their best to take the last two points in the game. The second game of the match wasn’t as close, so the Falcons cruised to their third victory on the day behind a total team effort . Coach Brad Bruns was extremely pleased with the team’s performance and is hoping this will set the tone for deep run into the post season.
