EAST CENTRAL BEATS MERAMEC IN OVERTIME THRILLER

Victor Del Monego's Head Ball Goal vs. MeramecA thrilling victory over Meramec has vaulted the Falcons to a 16-4-1 record on the season. After a slow start the Falcons clawed their way back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to force overtime against Meramec in the NJCAA Region XVI Quarterfinals on Saturday. Reggie Faucher tied the game with his eighth goal of the year by lifting the ball over the Meramec goalkeeper midway through the second half. East Central started turning up the pressure and had four opportunities go wide in the overtime periods. With one minute remaining in the second overtime Luis Percovich crossed a perfect ball to Victor Del Monego on the run. Victor beat the Meramec goalkeeper with a dramatic diving headball goal. The golden goal ended the contest and the Falcons cleared the bench in celebration.
