EAST CENTRAL FLATTENS FLO VALLEY

Meghan Rumley at the PlateMeghan Rumley at the PlateDespite the weather conditions, the Falcons (2-3) managed to get their second victory of the season by a margin of 14-6 over the STLCC-Florissant Valley Fury. The teams were only able to play one game of the double header due to rain. The game was tied 6-6 after 7 innings, but the East Central bats came to life and the team rallied to score eight runs in the 9th inning.

FALCONS FLY OVER FENCES AGAINST EAGLES

The Falcons had a slow start against the Dyersburg State Eagles, but found their offensive power as the double header progressed. Down 10-0 in the fourth inning of the first game, East Central provided a dramatic comeback behind a grand slam by Lisa Stout. After tying the game 10-10, the Falcons ended up losing 15-12 in extra innings. The second game turned out better as ECC won 10-1 in five innings as Jessica Eichholz, Sam Kleekamp and Meghan Rumley all contributed home runs as the Falcons cruised to victory.

East Central took an early, one game lead and didn’t falter as they were able to top Mineral Area College 25-17, 25-23, 22-25, 26-16. A quick start in the first game had the Falcons in the command of the match from the beginning to end. Freshmen standout play from Kara Bowman, Natalie Davis, Kasey Kirchhofer, A.J.
