EAST CENTRAL COLLEGE WINS MCCAC ACADEMIC AWARD FOR FIFTH STRAIGHT YEAR

The East Central College Athletic Department wins the Midwest Community College Athletic Conference Academic Award for the fifth consecutive year with a 2.97 overall GPA. The streak of five years 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 marks another banner year for the student athletes at East Central College. It is a testament to the importance the entire college and athletic department places on student athlete academic achievement.

FALCONS FALL IN NJCAA TOURNAMENT DESPITE GREAT EFFORT AGAINST #2 JONES COUNTY

2014 ECC SOFTBALL2014 ECC SOFTBALLThe Falcons (32-22) ended with the best season record in school history, but fell short in the NJCAA National Tournament. Facing a tough challenge at the #15 seed, the Falcons took an early 3-1 lead against #2 Jones County with three doubles in a row. ECC had a strong couple of innings pitched by Chelsea Bax and ECC was looking to finish the game with good defense.

2014 NJCAA DISTRICT CHAMPIONS2014 NJCAA DISTRICT CHAMPIONSThe East Central College Softball Falcons (32-20) have achieved another milestone this season as they won the NJCAA District J Championship over Murray State College. The best two out of three series was swept by the Falcons with scores of 2-1 and 4-3. Sarah Westhoff collected the win, pitching a one run gem of a game. ECC made it interesting as they were down one run most of the game. Then Haley Zenner struck a two run homer to elevate ECC to the eventual 2-1 victory.
