EAST CENTRAL GOES 4-0 TO WIN FALCON CLASSIC

Mackenzy VedderMackenzy VedderThe East Central College Volleyball Falcons went 4-0 to win the 2015 Falcon Classic with incredible team play. ECC knocked off Missouri Baptist JV, Lewis & Clark, Southeastern Iowa and Prairie State to bring home their first tournament championship of the young season. The Falcons now 6-3 are hoping to ride the momentum into regular season region and conference play. Taylor Davis and Mackenzy Vedder were named to the all-tournament team.

FALCONS SWOOP PAST CMU EAGLES WITH 4-0 VICTORY

A clean sheet is a great way to start the season on the statistical side as the Falcons blanked Central Methodist JV 4-0 in Fayette, MO. ECC was led offensively by Alejandro Garcia, who netted three goals in the match. Jacob Moore, Southern Boone High School, traveled close to home and netted his first collegiate goal of the regular season. The Falcons took command of the match early and held the Eagles scoreless behind a strong defensive effort.

FALCONS CONQUER RED DRAGONS IN STRAIGHT SETS

Samantha KoloSamantha KoloThe Falcons were able to win their first home match of the season over Region XVI opponent Wentworth Military Academy in straight sets 26-24, 25-21 and 25-10. ECC kept battling the Red Dragons for every point and prevailed finally with a 26-24 first set nail biter of a score. A couple of errors in the second set had ECC trailing midway and then the team started to click offensively and defensively. The Falcons were paced by Samantha Kolo who collected 9 kills.
