KARI BLANKENSHIP NAMED NATYCAA SCHOLAR ATHLETE HONORABLE MENTION

East Central College sophomore volleyball player, Kari Blankenship, was awarded the National Alliance of Two Year College Administrators Scholar Athlete Honorable Mention Award for the 2008-09 academic year. She will be presented with a certificate from NATYCAA. The NATYCAA Scholar Athlete Award was started in 1992 and is sponsored by Summit America Insurance Services.

FALCONS FINISH SEASON

Jill Griffin at the PlateJill Griffin at the PlateThe East Central College Falcons (22-26) ended the season with improved play from a limited roster working with multiple injuries. Tabetha Korman came on strong the last week of the season hitting three home runs including a solo home run to start the scoring in a 5-2 win over Forest Park in the Region 16 Tournament. The Falcons took a commanding 5-0 lead against the Highlanders and finished the game off with a strong pitching performance by Sam Juergens.

FALCONS COME BACK AGAINST COTTEY

Tabetha KormanTabetha KormanThe Falcons (21-25)came back to beat Cottey 8-7 in a tightly contested Region 16 Tournament game to keep their season alive. After dropping the first game against Forest Park, the Falcons found themselves facing another deficit and desperately needed a comeback. Tabatha Korman started the rally with a solo home run and ended the game with a two run single to send ECC to the next round of the tournament.
