FALCONS MAKE MIRACULOUS COMEBACK AGAINST ST. LOUIS CC

The ECC Softball Falcons (29-22) were down early by a score of 5-1 in the first round of the NJCAA Region 16 DII Tournament against St. Louis Community College. East Central College decided to shift gears and started their comeback mode. Down 5-2 heading into the top of the 7thinning, ECC loaded the bases and Kaity Grills came through with a clutch hit to tie the game 5-5.

FALCONS FINISH REGULAR SEASON STRONG WITH SWEEP OF COTTEY

Kaity GrillsKaity GrillsA tough regular season schedule came to an end as the Falcons swept Cottey College in a double header continuing a hot streak of winning five of the last six games to finish 28-22. ECC took control in the first game and didn’t let up, winning convincingly 14-1. Kaity Grills led the team with three hits including a grand slam home run and drove in five runs.

FALCONS COLLECT MCCAC HONORS

HILL AND MONZYKHILL AND MONZYKAs the regular season winds down for the East Central College Softball Falcons, the post-season honors are being handed out for the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference selections. This year Ashley Hill and Kierstin Monzyk were named to the 1st Team All-Conference and Sarah Westhoff was named 2nd Team All-Conference. Hill just broke ECC’s single season strikeout record and Monzyk is close to breaking ECC’s single season stolen bases record.
